Independent Advisory Services

SENDIAS/IAS are a service that provide legally informed information, advice and support, to parents and carers who have children between birth and 25 years, with any type of SEND. They also support young people directly. They cover Education, Health and Social care. All SENDIASS/IAS staff are qualified, skilled, and experienced in delivering information, advice and support.

Description of service offered:

SENDIASS is committed to providing a flexible and supportive service, giving parents/carers, children/young people 0-25, schools and professionals the opportunity of working together to meet the special educational needs and disability of the individual pupil.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5 pm.

It may not always be possible to speak with a member of the team due to outside office appointments. However, there is an answer machine so that messages may be left at any time.

Description of service offered:

We offer confidential, impartial and free information, advice and support to disabled children and young people, or children and young people up to the age of 25 who have or may have Special Educational Needs, and their parents.

We offer information, advice and support in matters relating to Education, Health or Social Care provision. We can provide support over the phone, via email and in person, and support at meetings. We provide information through a helpline, factsheets and links to a range of support networks and organisations via our website and Facebook group. We offer drop in sessions for young people and parents throughout the year including evenings.
