BarbaraHi I'm Barbara, I am a qualified HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with children and adults with complex needs. My passion for autism blossomed during my university studies and I started to put knowledge into practice when I first became a Behaviour therapist.

A few years ago, I went back to my clinical psychology path and working in a CAMHS service I broadened my experience by offering  Autism Assessments and support to young people and their families. There I helped teenagers going through the ups and downs of “not quite fitting in”, I supported parents to help their own children to recognise and deal with strong emotions and I held their hands tight while walking through the diagnostic process.

I also learned how to think outside the box and adapting the most common therapeutic models, such as CBT and DBT, to children and young people with a neurodevelopmental disability. Currently I work in a brain injury rehabilitation unit using a neurobehavioural model; away from that kaleidoscopic rainbow of colours that Autism represents for me, I feel my passion for supporting children and families is stronger than ever.

This is why I am part of REACH North West who have the same values.
