CarolineHi I’m Caroline. I am a mum to a wonderful five-year-old boy who is autistic. As a family we were wanting to find ways to gain knowledge, strategies and skills to help improve our quality of life. We were introduced by a friend to a local organization who provided such services. We were so relieved to find a charity that not only provided these, but genuinely cared. With their help and advice, they have made our journey much less overwhelming. I feel that my son has made huge progress and because of this I wish to help other families who are experiencing similar challenges and be able to guide them in the right direction. This is why I want to volunteer for Reach Northwest. Their vision is to help, support and improve the quality of life of those with Autism and learning difficulties, they believe that everyone is entitled to gain skills, educate themselves, promote independence in a way that is accessible for everybody. My role will be working within the administration sector and I am a Reach NW committee member.

Before I had my son, I mainly worked within the hospitality sector and my roles were of a clerical nature. I have been a volunteer for Samaritans and Fortalice which I found immensely rewarding. I have completed level 2 and 3 Diploma in Counselling and A level Psychology.

I am excited to be on board with Reach NW and look forward to supporting and meeting new children and families.
